    That Matt Simmons piece is pretty scary stuff. One can only hope that his senario is a very very remote outlier.

    Yes, let's just hope it's an extreme view or that he's an alarmist. It's hard to know not being an energy geologist.

    At least the big 4 oil companies have finally committed $1 billion for "future spill response" efforts via their new consortium. That's got to be a positive for oil drilling and the country. One can hope that they will also address some of these ecological concerns, and perhaps Matt Simmons, being a former oil insider, will pass on some of his concerns so that they at least can be evaluated and considered.

    If thats a true senario all oil drilling must stop as a world disaster is brewing in the pot... I bet that's not going to happen as everyone needs to drive their cars to to go to work so we can make a living in todays capitolistic economies.
