Following a slew of corporate inversions this past year, policymakers in both the legislative and executive branches are looking to slow this trend. While the Republican-controlled House of Representatives remains unlikely to produce or pass legislation to combat inversions, there have been various proposals and calls to action from the Senate and the Obama Administration. When Congress returns from their recess on September 8, the Senate Finance Committee is likely to begin considering legislation to either stop or curb the benefits of inversions. Likewise, the Obama Administration is reportedly reviewing possible options for executive actions to stop inversions.
