The NYSE came into being in as the New York Stock and Exchange Board in 1817, a form of it started earlier.

So its been arround for over 190 years. In that span of time, everything conceivable has been tried to forecast its direction. Wave theory, Gann, Fibonacci, Dow Theory, even Astrology have worked sporadically, probably because of adherents who turned them into self-fulfilling views. And then they didn't work and went away to be reincarnated later.

In Bull Markets, New Newsletters come out in droves. They do well because "a Monkey could throw a dart at a financial page" and beat the averages. This was actually done and the results published. There aren't many that have stood the test of time. Those that could "go with the flow" lost you less than those who "couldn't Possibly be wrong", when the tide reversed.

In Bear Markets, where fear reigns, New Newsletters are not as prolific because People want time tested opinions. But The Internet and sites like SeekingAlpha allow the Scam artists to to post Fear Mongering Titles and Articles which are a mixture of a little bit of truth mixed with outright LIES which try to snare the unwary. Those that treat their Opinions as the Truth are rather easy to spot, they can't backup what they claim, and when questioned, instead of answering, they generally attack you instead of responding.

And they continue to Lie about what they said, you can quote their own Comments back to them but those seem to be irrelevant. "I Never said that" is the refrain. This is occasionally true for the Current Article, but previous Articles show otherwise. They just don't seem to grasp the Idea that their Articles can be reread.

You post an Article, you claim its true and not an opinion, I Do Not Have to Disprove your claim, You have to provide proof Of Your Claim.

These are just the ones who want Recognition. There are others who post Articles with a similar lack of proof but want you to Pay for their Services. Whether its the Article or a response, the links all lead to their Websites where they will sell you everything. "The Author responds", his website is next to his name, but the response usually includes a link to the same website, talk about overkill. You see that, Run.

My profile includes my emotional attachment to my clients. Well boys and girls, you aren't my clients. But Damned if I'm going to stand by and watch while you get scammed.

Recognition scammer, example, Harold Goodman: A profile which lends no credence to the Articles written, makes unprovable claims and is unable to post a response without obfuscating.

Advertising Scammer, example, Trace Mayer: An unverifiable highly embellished profile, which can not be substanciated regardless of Search Engine used. When queried on it, he ignores the request. His claims to fame are embellished on his Website. On this site, he has the unique distinction of receiving SeekingAlpha's highest Award, The Gold Standard Seal of Approval. (There is only one seal and it does have Gold coloring.)As far I can tell, the only things Free here are the previously posted fictional SA Articles. These Articles all have one thing in common: They slander people he has never met, alter Articles written by others to push his Adertising agenda, and all of them are written as if they are Factual.

Wow, this latest with Harold has sparked a fire under you and that can only be a good thing as far as debate goes. Times like these I say it all needs to be addressed. Thanks.

Interesting observations! I'll need to pay more attention.

BTW, I'm very impressed with Tyler Durden.
