A few Tesla fans decided to drive the same route as the New York Times author today and twitter about it. You can follow them @TeslaRoadTrip.
One of the tweets that I found interesting was the following:
"10 Model S Sedan's here including one owned by Volkswagen Company!"
Now I do understand that there may be many reasons why VW owns a Tesla, however it made me think a little bit about Volkswagen's line-up. A stake in Tesla would be the perfect entry into the all-electric vehicle market.
Would it be preposterous to think that VW may invest, or even buyout Tesla to add to their stable of brands?
Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, and no plans to initiate any positions within the next 72 hours.
