One of my investment themes for the past 18 months relates to the increasing number of Americans with health care insurance, based on both an improving economy and the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. After a few years of lackluster growth, healthcare spending should increase at a 6% annual rate for foreseeable future. I have therefore been recommending "commodity medical stocks", and while they have performed quite well, I believe significant upside remains. The list includes HSP, KMB (spinning off its healthcare unit), ABT, BDX and BCR. Len
Disclosure: I am long HSP, BDX, BCR, ABT, COV, KMB.
