Hi Justin, Why did the stock sell off so much - just the earnings miss?

    Author’s reply » Hi Ilene!

It does appear to be attributed to the miss.

After reviewing both the Q2 report and the conference call - in addition to the fundamentals and potential growth prospects going forward, I believe the sell off was an over-reaction, and thereby created a good opportunity for either value or growth investors.

BTW, I did receive your email and I will be responding. Thank you!

This is a nice looking report. Thank you for sharing!

Fundamentals matter. This company is highly likely to be acquired by another competitor or a private equity firm. It kind of reminds me of IMS Health (RX) back in either October or November 2009 and prior to its acquisition. In fact, I recommended (RX) on this blog just before it was bought out.

I recommended it on November 3, 2009. I believe it was acquired about two weeks later on the 14th or 15th of November.

Author’s reply » (1) I have closely studied the healthcare sector (recent examples include: BIOS, CYPB etc.)

    (2) T Boone Pickens' made the case for Natural Gas to Transportation at Georgetown University's School of Business back in March-April 2008 on C-SPAN. He later called this the Picken's Plan. I listened and took notes. Afterwards I outlined a game plan (namely CLNE and FSYS) and waited for the right opportunities - August 2008, March 2009 (obviously) and June 2010.

    (3) Seasonality, Sentiment, Technical Analysis, Fundamental Analysis, and Economics.

    (4) From taking risks and realizing a number of losses when I began trading from home in 2005, I have learned how to avoid losses.

    (5) A little luck does not hurt.

Everything came together during the summer of 2008 when I advised friends and family members to short oil. Of course, no one heeded that advice. I tried, but the short oil ETF, which I had invested shares was closed. I actually got out with a nominal gain. I cannot recall the symbol or the fund manager. The hedged by purchasing puts on oil at $120 that were set to expire in June 2008. SADLY, had they purchased the July or August 2008 $120 puts, then the fund would have survived and I would be much better off today. :-)

    Ok, back your question.
My core strength and focus is healthcare and namely the cancer drug makers.

I also invest and closely track specific areas where I can foresee long-term growth. Some of those areas include: Natural Gas / Clean Energy, BioPlastic, Clean Water, Platinum and Palladium and Infrastructure. In addition to the areas above, I also follow global Currencies and Gold.

Unlike Law, I enjoy this challenge. I especially enjoy helping the great group of people, who supported my efforts at Rx Investors.

It's been a humbling experience. My first article was published here at SA on June 12, 2009. Today, biotech / pharma execs and consultants (both public and private companies), medical doctors, portfolio managers, an institutional investor, at least one med school professor, attorneys, entrepreneurs rely on the recommendations I provide at Rx Investors.

While I read and heard this a number of times over the years, I have been seeing this unfold on my site over the past 4+ months. And that is, most investors lose and give up. I am finding that both average and above average people lack the focus required when it comes to investing their own money. I am also finding that they are also not willing to pay someone else a reasonable fee to help them. It blows my mind.

Sorry for the lengthy response. I appreciate that you have recognized the results of a few of my recent recommendations. Thank you for the thoughtful question. I mean that.
