Scrooge had worked his way up the financial ladder from humble immigrant roots. Born in Glasgow, Scotland he made a living shining boots, and was enraged when a ditchdigger paid him with a US dime. However, the coin inspired him to take a position as cabin boy on a Clyde cattle ship to the... More

Government is instituted for the common good; for the protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness of the people; and not for profit, honor, or private interest of any one man, family, or class of men; therefore, the people alone have an incontestable, unalienable, and indefeasible right to institute government; and to reform, alter, or totally change the same, when their protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness require it.

-John Adams, Thoughts on Government, 1776

I recollected that her eye excelled in brightness, that of any other animal, and that she has no eye-lids—She may therefore be esteemed an emblem of vigilance.—She never begins an attack, nor, when once engaged, ever surrenders: She is therefore an emblem of magnanimity and true courage.—As if anxious to prevent all pretensions of quarreling with her, the weapons with which nature has furnished her, she conceals in the roof of her mouth, so that, to those who are unacquainted with her, she appears to be a most defenseless animal; and even when those weapons are shewn and extended for her defense, they appear weak and contemptible; but their wounds however small, are decisive and fatal:—Conscious of this, she never wounds till she has generously given notice, even to her enemy, and cautioned him against the danger of treading on her.—Was I wrong, Sir, in thinking this a strong picture of the temper and conduct of America?

    -Benjamin Franklin, Pennsylvania Journal,1775

If ever a time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin. Samuel Adams

My favorite quote, so important today in these times.

Author’s reply » All of these corrupt politicians, shady policies, sneaky bills and unconstitutional Czars are making me sick. The Government has become to big to keep an eye on and are working for their own interests instead of for "We the people." Without a brave individual to represent the people instead of a party or institution this country, the way our founding fathers created it will evaporate. If it hasn't already.

From time to time it becomes necessary to water the tree of liberty with the blood of patriots and tyrants. I hope things don't come down to that but every generation has it's crosses to bear. It seems that this one is ours. May we carry it with honor to a just resolution.

Rob, I fear that the tyrants are going to try to sit this one out and pit the Demician brain washed patriots against the Republicrat brain washed patriots.

We have to go to the source, THE TYRANTS IN WASHINGTON.

Rob you have nailed why I push for goooh.com, I see it as our last hope for peaceful resolution because the tyrants will not change their spots so we must change the tyrants.

DG - I agree whole heartedly! But one thing that is confusing the issue is that there seems to be too many movements starting up in different locations, either none aware of the other or each vying for the leadership role as competitors rather than conspirators. There are numerous small, new party movements. There are more than one site that advocate a change in the process, including goooh.com. Somehow, someone needs to brings these fractious movements together so that they can coalesce into one unified movement with some real force. Of course, competition may work, with the best rising to the top in time. My concern is that we don't have enough time for the winner to work through the process. It could take a decade or more. In the meantime, the Republicrats continue to divide and conquer with endless streams of money from contributions and help from MSM controlling information flow. The big party machine may not crumble until the nation crumbles.

I haven't given up hope. I'm just saying that there is a perilous mountain climb ahead, not just a hill.

This is a libertarian movement. As such, it is populated by cats. They cannot be herded and you should not try to heard them.

Libertarians will lose interest as soon as some loudmouth takes a leadership position and starts telling them what to think and believe.

It is better to have an atmosphere where we all agree on what we do not want than to try to all agree on what we want as a group of cats.

Just look at the old ladies that try to maintain a herd of cats in their homes. Their furniture gets all clawed up and their houses smell like cat piss.

So I say to my fellow libertarians, go forth to your local churches and taverns and mark your territory with the spray of liberty!

Spread the word and one day the scent of real change will waft throughout the entirety of this great land!

I joined today, guns. I'm no candidate, but I'll work the grass roots.

And I am a paleo-libertarian, Neal Boortz FairTaxer, and Ayn Rand fan.
