Longstanding investor in Looksmart (and a 68 yr old ex-tradesman), who has a passionate interest in the problems of newspapers along with their success in all their monetisation attempts made, on the web. For the "times are indeed, a changin", I feel. [17th of Aug, 2011 - Print media... More
My post (above link) mentions how businesses from around the world (both large and small) can effectively use Facebook Ads to 're-target' a Facebook member. from any-where on the web (that's on any publisher partner site within the Looksmart marketplace), or, on Facebook itself.
Targeting and Re-Targeting
Facebook had 'picked up' on a simple mention of 'spirit/s' @ a 'joke' FB non-event that I wasn't to be attending. Malibu siezed the opportunity provided to them (and, by Facebook), from that point.
Today, I was unobtrusively 're-targeted' by Malibu once more and this time, on Facebook. - - If every picture tells a story, then the following could hardly be missed, within the run of all the "Latest Post" made among my FB Friend.
In a day where both Targeting and Re-targeting can be drilled down to individual users [http://selnd.com/l88VtZ - - - with their house-hold TVs next], there is not a business in the world that cannot be advantaged by this phenomena, that is about to hit them. [Facebook itself is said to now have more than 200 Million active mobile users]
ps; And now (it would seem?), LinkedIn have joined the party. And targeting world-wide, I might add. As a member of this site and in having much to say about performance marketing on Facebook (but more likely via Looksmart's analytics - I've not been on LinkedIn for yonks), I've now been 're-targeted' by a re-targeter!! (That's cool!)
I ventured back to the www.northjersey.com/ site, to see what else could be noted.
This site is part of the Yahoo YPN or, it's 850 odd strong, newspaper, Yahoo Publisher Network.
There's no doubt (in my mind) that Yahoo are now using the Looksmart marketplace, with the re-targeting of ads to their (or, at least in this this case), publisher partner sites.
A surprise Ad recieved just now is for (would you believe), a site called:

. News (a 'leak') in regards to Facebook and performance marketing, CPV type (and, using Looksmart's exclusive marketplace, no doubt) comes from Adotas today:

A surprise Ad recieved just now is for (would you believe), a site called:
Check it out for yourself.
Then right-click on that (his) page, to then see the source-code of that particular Ad. (On, 'view page source')
[Note: It's now been turned into an ERROR 404] :)
If I'm not mistaken:
<a href="www.linkedin.com/in/alexandrovskiyuri";>LinkedIn</a></p>
If you click on his "View Profile" (on his site page link, above) - it then takes you back to his LinkedIn profile.
