  • Sam Harris On "Free Will" - And Understanding Ourselves? 2 comments
    May 6, 2012 9:35 PM

In view of that (Reuben Blades') "quote" below, I'm 'putting it out there', Folkz!

The (my own) real "awakening" (for me), has firmly come over the past 24 hrs or, so - when considering:

Sam Harris on "Free Will" - www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCofmZlC72g&;feature=youtube_gdata_player

To understand ourselves is to (then) understand others?

I continue to argue that WE all have an urgent need to control the information that we 'feed' into our minds -- rather than have the (what is truly, regurgitated) information that has 'historically been fed' (into our minds), get to "control" us. And that (as individuals), we must all then get to recognise this (our adopted values), as being causal.

I'm not sure that "the masses" of people (here or, on Facebook or, wherever else), will ever get to a point of such a realisation, and a full acceptance of what (has happened and), is happening.

..All of a sudden, I've gone fully 'negative' on this (now) insurmountable problem that we (as humans) have allowed our 'mind-set' to be so cleverly 'formed' by the hands of so few, others. (Controlled.)

    FWIW.

    ..............

I am now finding this all interesting, too!

"Agenda 21 proposes that children be educated by the system to be "global citizens," which is also what TVP proposes. ("Everyone must be properly educated.") Also, the type of education that is described in Agenda 21 is the same type of education presented in the trailer for the TVP "educational" documentary film TROM, which you'll see later. It's based on the idea of "constructivism," which basically means that you have no inherent knowledge or innate logic, and therefore you must believe everything that they tell you."

    Always, only an opinion.

  • Great Post. There is hope though since we are always capable of changing our minds, another wonderful element of free will. Consider it this way. Every belief no matter how fixed is simply a decision we have made at some point which can decide otherwise. :)

The constructivism part they speak of will only be in regards to improving people's scientific capabilities I imagine. It most certainly wont be in regards to the more traditional and set parts of our programming, ie. social sciences and history especially. Constructivism is actually a wonderful thing and it does not train people to become global citizens but to become problem solvers and think for themselves. I bet that part is simply more false promises.
