  • soybeans, wheat and Corn getting ready to roar  7 comments
Jun 17, 2010 3:19 AM | about stocks: MOO, UAG, JJA
Soybeans, corn, wheat, etc, are all indicating that they are going to put in important long term bottom formations in the next 5-15 weeks. This should then be followed with very strong rallies. Our indicators in our futures service have already triggered early warning signals of a rally and we are now on standby for daily and weekly buy signals before deploying money into these markets. As this service is not geared towards futures and as most subscribers here do not play the futures markets we are trying to find some way to take advantage of this move. One possible method would be via some ETN’s. We would have to find ETN’s to match the specific market and not trade general ETN’s; the only exception could be trading a general agricultural ETN such JJA, UAG or MOO. This could be done only if several agricultural sectors trigger strong buys simultaneously. London does a better Job in terms of offering commodity based ETN’s than the U.S. does.

    Stocks: MOO, UAG, JJA

    Hello Sol

I'm writting from Poland and I've checked in HSBC and other banks and ETN is reserved only for companies not for ordinary people ... in this case - what should I do to inwest in wheat for example ?

    sincerly yours - Stan :)

Author’s reply » Hello Stan, sorry for the delay in responding. I was away for awhile.

You could purchase ETF's that invest in agriculture. However I would wait for a bit as wheat and the agriculturals in general are still correcting. You can find ETF's that invest in the agricultural sector by doing a simple google search

Author’s reply » I was doing research and travelling. Also I offer a service and my subscribers kept me busy as the commodities market was very volatile last year and continues to be this year. Already advised them to close out positions in the Euro, copper and Gold; all before the market topped. Also Seeking alpha does not publish Technical analysis articles so I am limited in what i can publish here as they want the data to be backed with fundamentals and in many cases it is hard to find fundamental data to support Technical analysis as TA is forward looking and fundamental analysis for the most part looks at old data.

As for ETNS that you could get into one is COW, i will have to look up the other ones. Will get back to you on this

Author’s reply » Bonds in the US will rise for awhile probably until Dec then slowly start to put in what should be a multi year top. Right now because of the disaster in Europe everyone is forgetting how deep in the hole the US is. Interest rates will have to rise in the US as we continue to print money at a mind boggling rate.

I would wait a bit longer before deploying new money into agriculture. As the dollar is set to rise for several months commodities in general could take a hit.
