Two long term themes that I am very attracted to are: water and Africa. I have found it difficult to find ideal investment vehicles for either. But there are ETFs for each that are at decent buy spots.
AFK is a on rising trendline support dating back to 2009. It has, in general, trended along with the S&P, though it underperformed early this year due to exposure to Egypt, and in the last month or so was inversely correlated during the S&P's sell-off.
One of my other favorite themes is water, something that will become increasingly important. PHO is an ETF that covers a variety of subsets within the water industry. It is at some long-term price support (18.50ish) that has acted as support/resistance almost every time it's been touched over the last 5 years. It is also trading at the bottom of its falling channel, and still above support from its 2009 lows.
