    Sarah Palin has begun her "post Alaska" career as a political activist. She may continue to live in her home state. But she will be pursuing her career outside of it.

    Despite their coming from basically opposite wings of the Republican party, and having serious disagreements during the campaign, Sarah Palin is supporting the re-election bid of her former running mate, John McCain, for Senator. That's a smart move. Shows that she's a "team player."

    A defeated Vice-President and former Presidential candidate named Richard M. Nixon did much the same. He campaigned heavily for other members of his party and built up debts until a "critical mass" of them owed him something; like a second chance at the Republican nomination.

    In this one respect, at least, Sarah Palin is beginning to look "Presidential."

    I hope she goes away forever...she's an embarrassment to America. I even support the Republicans and rather vote Democrat because of her.

    GW Bush was bad, but he had experience, family history, connections and the education to support his presidential campaign.

    I agree. Sarah is charming, lively, fun. But she is an embarrassing cheerleader in the political realm. With the kind of troubles America now has, we don't need a sexy cheerleader trying to run the country. We need someone with a deep understanding of how things work.

    Sarah should have her own talk show.

    There are far more qualified and smarter individuals. If they seek a female candidate, you can choose known names like Marg Whitman (ex-EBAY) or Condoleezza Rice (ex Secretary of State).

    I personally believed Palin cost the Republicans the presidency. If they chose Rice it would have negated the Blacks and would have received the Female votes from BO not picking Hilary. Given the margin of victory was anywhere from 3%-10% of the votes, McCain created one of the largest blunders in political history.

    I like the parts of Sarah that are not political. She is a small town, hard working girl with values.

    Not the groomed politicians that we normally choose.

    But parts of the girl scare the hell out of me.

    Palin didn't cost McCain the election.

    McCain is barely more conservative than Obama, that may have cost him the election.

    But, you can't fight "hope" easily. Especially misguided, screw the rich, don't work as hard, hope. Free, Obama cash. Many voted for him thinking that was what they were going to get.

    Which is the same reason Obama will probably be re-elected. Hope always wins, especially when the deliverer is so silver-tongued. And so many benefit from the governmental beast.

    Sarah Palin is a good person. That may or may not make her a good candidate, especially at the Presidential level.

    I "like" her, but also believe that she needs more seasoning before she can be taken seriously at the national level.

    Unless we get one hell of a recovery I can't see Obama getting re-elected. It's really hard to even imagine right now a chain of events that brings us back to prosperity in time for his election.

    I think he's a black Jimmy Carter. Someone will defeat him in a landslide in the next election.

    That's some change I can believe in.

    Although Jimmy Carter did win the Nobel Peace Price. As did Obama.

    I would have thought the same thing when our Governess came up for re-election.

    But, unions, payola and "hope" happened.

    Let us hope the voters country-wide are brighter than in my state.

    "Governness." You mean Jennifer Granholm? She married one of my classmates from Yale.

    But I understand she's Canadian-born, which would disqualify her from running for U.S. President under the "birther" criterion.

    Unless Canada becomes the 51st state.

    I actually thought McCain should have chosen Condoleza as his running mate. Suddenly, he checks Obama on race. It would have been the 'greatest show on Earth: In this corner Obama-Hillary Clinton; in that corner McCain-Condoleza Rice.

    With Obama choosing...what's his name, Biden (old sot Joe from Uniontown), McCain-Rice becomes a much more formidable team.

    Sarah was cute, and the media tried to kill her (with her own gun); but the more one saw of her, the more mediocre she became.

    Condoleza Rice has a brain and a will. Sarah Palin, well, she'd be more fun on a date.

    Obama will win easily unless the Republicans can find a better leader and plan. The constant bickering will not help their cause. As for the Black Jimmy Carter, this could be possibly, especially with his own Democrats failure to support his leadership. I still believe BO will win the next election, but it really is sad when both parties cannot work together for a common goal...to help the people.

    Right now the Republicans could have PeeWee Herman running and he'd beat Obama.

    A strong candidate would be nice, but a mediocre candidate will suffice also.

    As a Republican, I'd rather have a legitimate, strong, candidate. Meaning a better candidate than Sarah Palin. Or, maybe, to put it another way, a better candidate than the CURRENT Sarah Palin.

    I agree Palin is not the right choice. BO simply won based on the undecided voters sitting on the fence, they either switched or stayed away. Republicans need a good leader preferably a woman (long overdue) with intelligence. There is still plenty of time with 3 years away, but with the limited intelligence of Palin constantly in the press this cannot help the party. I'd rather vote Democrat than with her running the country.

    I don't hate Sarah. I like her. She reminds me of my aunt, who is a good, generous person. Sarah reminds me of a real estate salesman. She's not very curious about the world. Which is fine in a real estate salesman. Her scope is way too small.

    Standing up for 'old time values' is enough for some local political jobs. Not for President of the United States. We can't have a president who can't think on her feet.
