The agreement includes all maintenance and new circuit installations at their point-of-presence (POP) sites and customer locations in 11 countries.

"This is a very strategic deal for Ericsson, as it is the first managed services agreement with Verizon," said John Neville, Head of Customer Unit Verizon. "Through this new scope of work, we are expanding our customer relationship from equipment and software solutions to a deeper focus on improving service to Verizon's critical international enterprise customers."

By engaging Ericsson for managed services, Verizon will be able to leverage Ericsson's large international presence and expertise in field services, thus improving the service its customers receive at a reduced cost.

"This agreement is an excellent opportunity for Ericsson to demonstrate the benefits of our managed services capabilities and, hopefully, continue to grow our business into the future with this very important customer," said Neville.
