Spectra was a spin-off from Duke Power. Traditionally, many spin-offs from utilities do not do well. After all, why did they spin it off at all. My biggest tragedy in spin-offs came from Verizon with Idearc and Fairpoint Communications - both turned out to be dogs. In fact they are both worth less than fleas on dogs.
Spectra however, seems to be doing well and today got a boost from Goldman. I also got a boost today with an upgrade to IVAN. Needless to say, I shouldn't complain about seeing my stocks go up in price but publicity from an analyst upgrade invites volatility where immediate action to buy often results in a short-term disaster.
I was tempted to sell some SE today but what to do with the proceeds and what if it continues to go up - always a bad decision. This makes doing nothing a cop out to not making a bad decision. I.E. don't make any decision - but this too is a bad decision.
So my advice is don't do nothing. Do your own DD. Then take pride on making lots of money on these and other I mention from you own hard work, analysis and perseverance as an astute investor/speculator.

Disclosure: I have long positions in SE and IVAN.
