    Is this because the 10 year note in Canada yields less than the US?

     

    2.45 vs 2.74 ?

     

    Given the improving US economy its weird to me that the Canadians and French can borrow for less than the US.

    Author’s reply » Historically it is true that the US had the cheapest borrowing rate. It is not so clear now how the interest rates relate due to the turmoil in the world. The 10 year note differential could be temporary.
