  • CRI Report Challenges And Opportunities Of China's Wood-working Machine Tool Industry 0 comments
    Aug 1, 2012 3:53 AM

(CRI-report) - In 2011, China's machine tool industry continued the rapid increase momentum as 2010. However, the growth rate appeared a slight decline trend since the second half year. The adjustment of industrial structure achieved obvious progress and high-end machine tools for high-end users are in short supply. During January and December of 2011, the finished gross industrial output accumulatively reached CNY 660.65 billion and the output value of product sales was CNY 642.49 billion.

Wood-working machine tool is one of the 8 categories of machine tool industry. With the fervent development of furniture market, wood-working machine tool also becomes popular. Particularly, numerical control, high-efficiency, high-precision and environment protection wood-working machine tools are much favored.

    Favorable Export Market

Wood-working machine tools are machining equipment used in the process of log sawing to wood product processing. They are mainly used in buildings, furniture, wood products and manufacture sectors.

The export momentum of China's wood-working machine tools is bright and countries of the third country are the major export markets, such as South East Asia, Southern Asia and so on. Some high-quality wood-working machine tools are exported to American and European markets. All in all, China's wood-working machinery has achieved the rapid development, which can occupy a place of its own in world's wood-working machine tool industry with the quality improvement. However, wood-working machine tool industry remains to become internationalization. Numerical-controlled wood-working machine tools need to be developed to be internationally compatible, which aims to make interchangeability between domestic and foreign numerical-controlled software. Furthermore, the professional level, ligature and automatic supporting skills, etc. should be standardized to realize the exchange.

    Obvious Numerical Control Trend

With the increasing intense market competition, the requirements for high-efficiency and high-precision are more and more. It is an indispensable market orientation and trend for wood-working machine tools towards numerical control.

The popularity and advantages of numerical control is increasingly obvious. Wood-working machine tools also prefer numerical control type. It not only owns the high efficiency but also improves qualities and precision of products. Taking furniture industry as an example, the application of numerical control wood-working machine tools reduce the use of many assistant moulds and clamping devices, so the automatic production lines can be realized. The manual labor of worker turns into briefness and the labor costs substantially reduces. As a result, numerical control technologies can gain supernormal profits for furniture manufacturers.

    Four Existing Problems

Currently, there are mainly four problems in wood-working machine tool industry. Firstly, it is a fatal problem, the poor technical innovation ability of products. Secondly, it is a prominent problem of the industry, the low product qualities. Isomorphism and homogenization become the origin of price competition. The low profits caused by low prices feed back to qualities, bringing the server quality problem, such as safety, reliability, precision retaining ability and so forth. Thirdly, it is potential problem of the industry, the wide range of varieties, the lack of characteristics and the low market occupancy. Last but not least, it is the tough problem of the industry, the obstructed market channels.
