    Index Review

    So, are we at the end of this government-sponsored rally, and ready to see widespread selling?  Well, our indicators are showing no real signs of it yet.  It can come on quickly; but we are still pretty positive on the Western indexes.  Shanghai is a mess; and it should continue lower.  The Hang Seng Index (HSI), which gave a sell signal yesterday, is giving a buy signal today -- of which we are very suspicious.  We are inclined to ignore this buy signal because so many of the peripherals are negative.  We'll show a chart to suggest why we feel this way.

    Our Dow Jones Index chart and DAX Index chart are really pretty bullish.

    We have some new buy signals today.  But we are cautious as the charts do seem to be indicating what may be a tired bull trying to trend higher.  We are shorting a couple of ETFs that profit when housing (DMM) and real estate (SRS) go down -- so we're betting there will be more gains in the housing and real estate stocks.  We don't think, however, that housing has bottomed in a general sense.  But the market is chasing housing and real estate at the moment.
