So I discovered this article this morning on the New York times. The article is entitled “Dell Calls ‘Green’ MacBook Ads Misleading”.
To summarize, the article talks about the new line of MacBooks that were released in 2008 that Apple claims are the “world’s greenest family of notebooks”. Dell claims that this is essentially false advertising because saying that their “family” of notebooks is green implies that all of their notebooks are now green, even the old white notebooks.
Personally, I think its a very weak accusation. I don’t see why it is neccessary to bring it up. When I watch the commercial I don’t assume it’s the old white or black notebooks at all. Only because it explains all the new features on the NEW macbooks. It doesn’t say that they revamped their old ones. I think Dell is just worked up because their products do not compare to Apple’s. I used to have a PC and I had so many problem with it that I finally switched to a Mac. Now, I will never go back.
