Is this bear market just the beginning of a bigger market correct?

Looking at the graph and knowing the past few month's performance of the S&P 500 (SPY) we know that the market hasn't be somewhat disappointing. But what history shows us is that the market could fall a considerably lot more in 2016/2017.

The last correction we had in 2000 - 2003 had a market fall of about 47%, in 2008 - 2009 the market fell 53% and indicators like the Stochastics, MACD and momentum all show signs of a downward trend. However a more then average volume needs to occur for a change in direction and that is not happened yet.
