Seems everyone is a little worried that ABK is rising in pps.  Are you guys afraid that the company may actually survive and suck too much energy and attention from all the other OVERPRICED banking stocks that lie about their total debts each quarter?  When the Wisconsin regulators segregated the 'toxic' assets from ABK main, I knew then that ABK would survive and the huge short position was toast.  Have fun 'covering' guys in the days and weeks to come........

    Disclosure: Long

    Stocks: AMBC

your right what is a stock that has recovered, 46 cents? isn't hard to put money back into this one..
So it would be easy to assume that this stock might carry some weight in the not so distant future...

Author’s reply » The likes of Warren Buffet and all the other short traders/scavengers have tried everything they can to destroy ABK so they could swoop in and pick up the best assets for pennies on the dollar. When the TARP decisions were made, AIG was the ONLY insurer to get help from the FED and that was due to it's int'l exposure.

Wall Street sold those CDO's as a 'AAA' financial instruments to unsuspecting funds, municipalities & investors worldwide so AIG had to pay 100 cent on the dollar when settling those claims. Hence, the need for $180 BILLION from the FED to backstop AIG. It was a potentially huge loss of confidence in the Dollar and could have meant an exodus from it as the reserve currency. ABK has done far less than the Big Bailout Banks (that are still hiding debts each quarter) and will recover long term.....MHO
