    Net revenue of $31.2 billion, up 8% from a year earlier. Revenue up due to cost cuts and increased sales.

    Devon Energy Corporation (NYSE: DVN) reported, excluding items, the company earned $1.60 per diluted common share in the fourth quarter of 2009 compared to a net loss of $15.42 per diluted common share a year ago. analysts average $1.25. DVN beats by $0.35.
     
    The company earned $713 million in the fourth quarter of 2009 compared to a net loss of $6.8 billion last year.
