Peninsula Energy Appoints Neil Warburton To Board

Peninsula Energy (ASX: PEN) has appointed experienced mining engineer Neil Warburton as a non-executive director.

Warburton, who has over 33 years experience in all areas of mining operation, currently serves as executive chairman of Red Mountain Mining (ASX: RXM) and is a non-executive director of Australian Mines.

He has held positions ranging from underground miner through senior mining engineer to executive directorships managing large mining and contracting companies.

From 2000 to 2012 Warburton held senior positions with Barminco Limited culminating in his appointment as chief executive officer.

He successfully grew Barminco into Australia's and West Africa's largest underground mining contractor with revenues of more than $800 million.

Prior to joining Barminco, Warburton held several senior corporate positions, including managing director of Coolgardie Gold.

He began his career with Western Mining Corporation as a graduate mining engineer and progressed to manager of Open Pit and Underground Operations.

Gus Simpson, executive chairman of Peninsula Energy, commented: "We are very pleased to welcome Neil to the Peninsula Board.

"He brings a wealth of mining and operational experience combined with corporate and commercial expertise. His appointment strengthens the Board as the company transitions to a uranium producer."

Additionally, Malcolm James is retiring from his position as a director, but will remain as an executive consultant.
