Silver Lake Resources Makes New Board Appointment

Gold-producer Silver Lake Resources (ASX: SLR) has appointed Luke Tonkin as director of operations effective 14 October 2013, with Tonkin also joining the board as an executive director.

Tonkin will be responsible for the coordination and optimisation of operational synergies between the Murchison and Mount Monger operations and assessing Silver Lake's extensive project pipeline.

Paul Chapman, chairman of Silver Lake, commented: "We are extremely pleased to welcome Luke to the Silver Lake board. Luke's operational and corporate expertise will further complement our strong range of board skills."

Tonkin has held senior management roles at WMC Resources Ltd, Sons of Gwalia Ltd, and was managing director of Mount Gibson Iron (ASX: MGX) for 7 years.

Most recently he was chief executive officer and managing director of Reed Resources (ASX: RDR).
