Activist investor Carl Icahn is back in action, this time announcing a 1.56% stake in Transocean (NYSE:RIG), his latest venture into the oil and gas industry. According to the company, Icahn's planned future purchase of Transocean shares would amount to at least 3.4 percent and make Icahn one of the top two shareholders, but it remains unclear as to whether he will take an activist role.
