  • Five Speculative Chinese Investment Opportunities 2 comments

In the past few weeks I have focused on Emerging Markets and finding investment opportunities abroad. Well below are five of my favorite Chinese stocks:

XIN – Xinyuan Real Estate, residential construction in China.

CEU - China Education Alliance, education and training services in China

RINO – Runs the pollution and treatment controls within China.

DGW - Duoyuan Global Water Inc., pollution and treatment control in China.

FUQI - Chinese jewelry company that has allegedly lied on their balance sheet and has to restate earnings, risky and interesting. Potential for extremely large profits if claims are overstated.

A common factor in all of these companies is extremely strong growth, low debt, and a big stockpile of cash combined with extremely low valuation. Also notable is a really large percentage of short in the float of a few of the companies. These are speculative plays but worth taking a look at if your looking for investment opportunities in China.

    Disclosure: "Long XIN"

  • Did you check RINO before you posted? Trading in the stock was halted by NASDAQ yesterday and is still in a T1 Halt right now.
