  • An Indication Of How Short-Sellers Manipulate Share Prices 0 comments
    Mar 11, 2014 11:53 PM | about stocks: MNK

This is a clear indication of how short sellers manipulate share price. This photo is taken from my personal options trading portal and depicts the ridiculous number of put contracts being held in Questcor Pharmaceuticals (QCOR) going into the Mar. 22, 2014 options expiration:

As you can tell, it is within the best interest of what Questcor has said is a number of "entities" involved, to keep the share price below $70.00 for the next week and a half. I would suspect that the majority of the options within the $45.00 - $57.50 strike prices are puts that have been sold for their premiums. Everything above that I assume are funds, large money managers and short-sellers who are looking to keep the price suppressed until the 22nd.

This chart from shortanalytics, depicts the percentage of daily shorted volume in the run-up to the Mar. 22nd OpEx. This photo shows the daily short percentages since Questcor's last 8-K:

Now, investors can gain a full understanding as to why Questcor's share price continues to look artificially suppressed. Nothing but coordinated manipulation.

    Disclosure: I am long QCOR.
