  • Reserve Bank of Australia May Statement on Monetary Policy 0 comments
    Jul 7, 2010 1:37 AM | about stocks: EWA, KROO, FXA, ADE, ANZBY.PK, CBAUF.PK, NABZY.PK, WBK, MQBKY.PK, BHP
The Reserve Bank of Australia has held the cash rate steady at it's July meeting.

If you look at Reserve Bank Of Australia Minutes (monthly but lagged) you will see they have no supporting analysis of conditions attached, not even say the top 10 economic graphs presented to the board members. To me this is good practice and some supporting material ought be made available.

The RBA does however provide a quarterly Statement on Monetary policy in pdf form which has a good series of very simple charts on both international and domestic economic conditions.

The latest such statement is for May 2010:
    www.rba.gov.au/publications/smp/2010/may...

    For future statements visit:
    www.rba.gov.au/publications/smp/index.html

For past statments simply click on the annual archives link at the right of the page and select the statement in which you are interested.

Disclosure: 30% in stock market through emerging, commodity, Australian and international funds, 70% mixed bonds (plus Australian real estate exposure)
