  • Week 2 2014 ETP Launches 0 comments

Week 2 of 2014 saw the launch of a number of new ETPs from around the Globe.

    In Europe

Source narrowly beat db-trackers with the launch of ETFs bringing China RFQII based exposure. Soros has been out with negative comments on the China theme lately and so has others. McKinsey has created an overview of the Challenges for China in 2014.

    North America

In US we say the launch of three interesting plays from FirstTrust, one ETF focusing on Companies with a consisting and increasing dividend payment.

Another ETF was structured around S&P 500 index exposure with a Covered Call overlay for additional premium income. Whereas the last ETF from FirstTrust was structured not only with a Covered Call, but also with a Protective Put Strategy (Collar).

State Street Global Advisors (SPDR) was out with three Actively Managed ETFs, about which there is not much to say other than, they seem to be focusing on the usual bottom-up stock-picking stuff.

Last but not least week 2 also saw the launch of three Emerging Market USD denominated Investment Grade debt plays from EGShares covering both Short, mid and long maturities.

While Cranberger has other ETPs recorded with a mixture of maturity, EGShares are the first to carved-out short or long-maturity exposure.
