The U.S. Federal Reserve Bank is in a lose lose position. If they continue the de facto Ponzi scheme they are running to keep the economy afloat the bubble will burst this is a fact.
If they pull the plug and do what they should have done 18 months ago, the economy will crash. Better to take the pain now and rebuild from a solid base. We can't repeat this enough, there will be no sustainable economic recovery without the U.S. Consumer and writing off the defunct commercial and residential real estate securities in the Fed Warehouse and on bank/hedge fund books.
The U.S. Treasury and Federal Reserve are out of time as they have tapped out their debt and open market capabilities.
