Pools Author, Scott Patterson, Provides His Insights On High-Frequency Trading In The Speed Traders By Edgar Perez 0 comments
Mr. Edgar Perez, former McKinsey & Co. consultant, is the author of The Speed Traders: An Insider's Look at the New High-Frequency Trading Phenomenon That is Transforming the Investing World. Inside, prominent figures drop their guard and speak with unprecedented candidness about their trade and opinions on the controversy of high-frequency trading.
Scott Patterson covers high-frequency trading for the Wall Street Journal and is the author of Dark Pools and New York Times best-selling book The Quants. In The Speed Traders, Patterson delivers his own finding and thoughts on high-frequency trading:
"He (Patterson) explains that the emergence of high-frequency trading in the markets has received a lot of attention-and that a lot of people probably will think the attention hasn't been that great. The feedback he often gets from his articles is that the press doesn't really understand high-frequency trading very well. He would say that that is one big challenge-to get the message straight and explain exactly what is going on. He thinks that when people see that the U.S. equity markets basically have been captured by high-frequency trading (at least this is what the numbers seemed to show), it raises some alarms for people who don't understand it. The speeds freaked people out, he says."
The Speed Traders, published by McGraw-Hill Inc., available online at amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, BORDERS, and INDIEBOUND, among multiple bookstores, is the most comprehensive, revealing work available on the most important development in trading in generations. High-frequency trading will no doubt play an ever larger role as computer technology advances and the global exchanges embrace fast electronic access. The Speed Traders explains everything there is to know about how today's high-frequency traders make millions-one cent at a time. In this new title, The Speed Traders, Mr. Perez opens the door to the secretive world of high-frequency trading.
Mr. Perez is widely regarded as the preeminent speaker in the specialized area of high-frequency trading. He is the author of The Speed Traders, An Insider's Look at the New High-Frequency Trading Phenomenon That is Transforming the Investing World (www.thespeedtraders.com), published by McGraw-Hill Inc. Mr. Perez has been featured on CNBC Cash Flow (with Oriel Morrison), CNBC Squawk Box (with Geoff Cutmore), BNN Business Day (with Kim Parlee), TheStreet.com (with Gregg Greenberg), Channel NewsAsia Business Tonight and Cents & Sensibilities (with Lin Xue Ling), NHK World, iMoney Hong Kong, Hedge Fund Brief, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Dallas Morning News, Valor Econômico, The Korea Herald, FIXGlobal Trading, The Korea Times, TODAY Online, Oriental Daily News and Business Times.
