The Wall St for Main St team did a special 1 hour plus podcast reviewing 2013's market and economic activities and our outlook for 2014. We discussed many major macro and market events such as the rise of Bitcoin and it being 2013's top performing asset class, the Fed's surprise December taper, the cyclical bear market in commodities, precious metals continued painful correction in 2013 as well as the rise of robotics, 3D printing and other technological innovations. Wall St for Main St also looked at trends that are occurring in the global economy and how that will affect investors. We give some predictions and educated guesses for 2014 and what new trends and events we think investors should look out for the year ahead.

Hello Jason :Been thinking about trying to fill the void left when we lost Emmet. Since you didn't step forward on this I felt I should give it a shot (although no one could EVER come close ) I thought maybe , just maybe , I might provide something that has been missed. Your thought's would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Author’s reply » What happened to Emmet? Did he quit writing articles? I used to speak to him at least once a week in messages until the last month or two. I've been taking it pretty easy since I was fired from my full time analyst job at a larger firm and taking a break for the holidays from building Wall St for Main St.

Jason, Emmet passed away tragically in early December in a hit and run accident. Horrible way to go and a very talented contributor to SA while he was here. RIP Emmet.

    Jason,

I was just numb when I heard the news. I would hate to see that fate on anyone. Emmet had such a unique and refreshing style to his posts. He was in the elite of SA contributors that I would seek out often to read his wisdom that he shared. I am deeply saddened of this news. http://seekingalpha.co...

Author’s reply » His articles were indeed different and quite insightful. I enjoyed speaking with him in Seeking Alpha messages and he always responded to me quickly. I could tell he was a good guy and he really cared. He expressed with me in messages his frustrations for working his butt off to write articles and how he made almost no money off them. He had been trying for months to convince me to get me to start writing my own articles for Seeking Alpha, but the firm I was working for at the time would not have allowed me to write opinion articles for Seeking Alpha. I'm no longer with that firm so maybe that is something I will consider. I like to write, just not all the time. I prefer doing podcasts and discussions instead. Please check out our You Tube channel and podcasts if you have not done so.

Jason, I don't know how much gratification that you would get writing, or if it would be profitable, but your knowledge, dedication, and the effort that you have put in to your work would make anything that you would choose to write very interesting and valuable to read and discuss.

I am relatively new to actively taking interest in, and following the investment arena, and have paid closest attention to the PM's and the deteriorating global currencies, only within the past year or so. I have a lot to learn but really enjoy your perspective on issues as you have a very qualified point of view on things.

I have listened to and enjoyed a few of your podcasts, and will make a point of listening to more of these. Perhaps it will inspire me more to take a similar path that you have in this area that I have a lot of undeveloped interest in.

Keep up your good work, and I wish you all the best in your career path in 2014+. I am confident that you will do well.

Author’s reply » Oh ok. Yes, I remember him telling me he cited my work in an article to get his readers familiar with me and Wall St for Main St and I thanked him for that. I was planning on getting him on for a podcast in the near future. He wanted to do it in October and I had too much on my plate at the time with podcasts already booked and I was also working a full time job. I was sleeping very little in October each night. Alan, we have over 200 podcasts on our You Tube channel and nearly a quarter of a million total views so far. I think you will highly enjoy our content. Koos Jansen of In Gold We Trust (He breaks Shanghai Gold Exchange news) is coming up next this week.
