  • Lessons Learned II - When To Sell Case II 0 comments
    Mar 31, 2014 1:02 AM | about stocks: BOFI

Yet again, I'm proven to be a good buyer and not so good seller. Case in point: Bank of Internet (NASDAQ:BOFI)

    • Bought when SA contributor knocked down the price. It was clear that Fees revenue mentioned was not significant to BOFI. The driving factore for BOFI is an underserved loan market and an expense advantage.
    • Price goes up nearly 100%! I'm a genius.
    • I start saying to myself that there looks like a bubble term in the price time-series.
    • Another SA contributor knocks down the price nearly 30%.

    Lesson:

    • Even long term ideas can show bubbles.
    • Run the bubble test.

    Disclosure: I am long BOFI.
