Be Smarter Than Trading Software. Computers Don't make Judgments 0 comments
Jun 7, 2011 6:03 PM
Whether if it's your broker trading platform, stock screener, options analytic software, or just simple technical indicators, stock market software are prone to computer errors and discrepancies. This is why it is important to follow our stock market guides in knowing what you buy or use before you buy them. While the calculations itself are probably correct (computers are great calculators!) the computer is not smart enough to use judgment to know if their data source is correct, if any other conditions have changed, and they definitely cannot tell you if you are using the tools correctly. Charles Cottle, aka the Risk Doctor, shows in this options training video how even a simple covered call P/L chart can show up wrong on an options broker platform. The solution? Know the concepts and foundations yourself, and use software to verify what you know.
