    How does someone who holds a Signature Styles Gift Card, which was given as a credit in lieu of crediting my charge card for a return, get on the creditor list? I have not been notified that I am included on the company's list of outstanding gift cards and/or credit owed for returned merchandise.

You might be interested in our latest post about these bankruptcy cases because the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors has asked the bankruptcy court to force the companies to honor gift cards, merchandise credits and other customer programs (at least temporarily).     The website you mentioned states access denied. When I go to the epiq site, Signature Styles ie Newport News isn't even listed!!I returned my merchandise last year and wasn't given a "refund certificate". Unable to use it because of the filed bankruptcy. I did file a claim but haven't heard a thing.I can't believe Newport News is able to continue with business as usual!

    Newport News owes me a refund for returned merchandise from March 24, 2011 in the amount of $114.99. Is there a document that I need to fill out and file in order to be considered for payment in this case? If so, can you please direct me on how to obtain that document?

    hopefully if anyone ordered from these Catalog company's, they used a C/C. And may call there C/C company a dispute of not geting a refund on Items you returned UPS insured...I did with mine. Doesnt hurt to ask

    Thank you - I am usually cleaver/savy enough to have thought this out, but I did not.....so Thank you - I filed the claim today w/my credit card and they issued me the mpney back to my acct. -- if Newport News dosen't reply with 45 days or show good reason as to why I should not be credited for my return, well then it remains and issue closed to my satisfaction - Thank you - (PS: How dare they pull this crap w/the "retail consumers" who's money is very presious in this economy! - I am done with the, I had been a customer for over 25 yrs., but the run around and keeping my items and my money ---I hope they are happy, cause they lost a good customer and I am sure I am only 1 of thousands who are done w/them - Thanks again for being on the ball!!!)

    I am in the same boat. Bought two items 4/2011 returned 5/2011. They arrived 5/31/2011, They said they "tried" to credit my credit card 6-2-2011, but were not allowed to(crock). Now I am out over $100.00 and they have my items as well.. They said they "tried" to contact me by sending a card(I did not receive a card) I was dealing with and consumed with my dying father, hospice and my mother from May-August. All Spiegel could tell me was , its too late to do anything., the time limit was 9-9-2011. Great. I am disabled and could use the money desparately. I am with you, a long time customer. How dare they treat anyone this way. They do not care and have "washed" their hands of their responsiblity. I asked how they could still do business and why did they even still sell items if they never intended to stand by them or refund any money. It is wrong all the way around. I am sorry for everyone here, and you're right, there are thousands of us. I'll probably try contacting my credit card company next. I will never buy anything else from Spiegel. There should not be a time limit, they are the ones in the wrong, not their customers.

    Fill out your claim form anyway, I just did, cuz I didnt get anything in the mail. Dont know if you will get anything, looks like they have decided NOT to honor creidt certificates and gift cards. But really, we should all get together and sue the crap out of them. They are a multi million dolar company and plan to "restructure" under a different name, but really its the SAME company!! They do this because it is a loophole so they can get away with not paying off their creditors. They same millions by doing this! Try calling them and you will be on HOLD for hours. They dont take any calls anymore. They have lots more customers than they think and it may be the death of them. I hope they lose millions of dollars due to KARMA!

    I want my CREDIT NOT ONLY has a LOYAL Customer my God moneys money!!!!!!!!!!!!

     

    Now what do I do?

     

    Send me email to samanthas722@gmail.com... file a motion or whatever to get my credit ha it will go back to Newport News..................... Whats the problem? What another SEARS nightmare for me.... NO.

    i am still waiting for my credit from Newport News since Jan 2011. I have made numerous calls beginning in March for my credit and at that time was just put off telling me to wait it will show on my credit card. Still no credit and in June was told to wait again. All I want is my credit or just give back my merchandise. The very least dont put me on hold for an hour as the last time I called in Aug. I am not giving away my money for nothing in return. This is absolutely ridiculous and very poor business practice.

    Am awaiting my credit of $91.05. Had been a loyal patron of new port news. Have sent requests more times than I can remember since April of 2011. Was never told they were in bankruptcy. Please advise where I can get my hard earned money back.

    I cannot believe you all would continue to sell to the public under these conditions. You have owed me a credit since June and I am really upset about it. I have sent numerous emails to your customer service department at Shapefx and not one has been answered. I purchased an item in good faith and returned it when it did not fit my granddaughter. If I knew you were in bankruptcy I sure would not have ordered a damn thing. I was a customer of Speigle and Newport News for years, too. For you all to do your customers like this is appalling.

    I just learned yesterday of Signature Style filing a Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
    I ordered merchandise from Spiegel on 4/20/11 and returned it on 5/1/11. Since it was deferred billing until 8/2011, I didn't worry about it. Just received CC statement and Spiegel billed me on 8/1/11. When I called them, rep was very rude and advised me their affiliate company, Signature Style, had filed bankruptcy and this was from them. I was advised that I needed to file a claim for my $180.34. However, I have not yet been successful in finding the website she gave me to file my claim. I have called my CC company to dispute this charge.
    I don't understand why Spiegel is debiting clients' accounts if this company has filed bankruptcy and they do not know the disposition of customer's purchases and returns. I now feel that I have been swindled out of my hard earned dollars. I can not even get through to the telephone number given me to request a claim form. I will never again do business with Spiegel or any of their affiliates, since I now know who they are.

    Spiegel owes me $65.00 for a return I made in July. Spiegel needs to make the customers award of what's going on, prior to the customer completing their Order. For example, Returns maynot be given and Gift Cards may not be honored.

    I purchased a bathing suit, then returned it right away. I never saw a refund. I then discovered they were in bankruptcy and had my Visa reverse the charges. Now ie billing me for the entire amount but they will only get back the shipping & handling. Otherwise, I will never see that money again. I really have a problem with them conducting business as usual on their website and all these innocent shoppers don't know that Spiegel is on financial trouble.
    Shame on you SPIEGEL !

    I have been trying to to get a refund certificate honored for merchandise purchased thru the Newport News club in which i thought I was a appreciated customer. They say the only way to received my refund is to access this site. How will that assure my refund?

    This information is shocking! Also vital to support a class action against Spiegel, etc. I have an $80 refund/credit that Spiegel personnel have given me a runaround about since last June. Last runaround was that I could file a claim on the Spiegel site. NOWHERE have I found a "Claim Form". Please advise a method to start taking action.

    I have been a faithful Speigel/Newport News shopper also. I have not received my credit in the amount of $170.00. When I returned a top in March of last year, they said they hadn't received it. I paid for the blouse in good faith waiting for them to credit me and give me a refund. I order a dress in May returned it June the 6th. And they are charging me late fee for an item that they said they had received. I will never again order anything or recommend them to anyone else.

    I also returned items in May and had called numerous times. Each time I was told by different c.s. reps that someone would look into it and the money would be credited back within a week or two. I was also given a phone number and web address which I was not able to find on the internet. After four months of being given the run around I called my C.C. company to file a claim and they issued my account a credit for total amount due that same day!

    I orderd a bathing suit, april 1 year ago,and it did not come for about a month and one half, I had purchase another and send the one to Newport news back. Never received my credit and was very upset, This morning I spoke with Speigal, lady name Nancy id 70859, who was very nice and gave me this email address. I was not informed as to how to get my money back. It is only about 40.00 dollars but a lot to me. Can someone help me?

    OMG!!!! If I talk to another NPN Rep I'm going to throw up!!!! I cannot get this resolved!! I want my $100 back and the thing is...... I want to purchase items from NPN!! This is so not fair to the customers! I've been a customer for over 10yrs. And I've never had a problem such as this. The site I was told to go to for a number to call , well that's a negative! Why is this so hard to just let your customers purchase the amount of the gift cards through NPN!!! Someone pleeeeeeeease help!!!

    I have shopped with Spiegel for over 30 yrs. Returned merchandise this past Spring totalling $217.98 and never received my refund. Have not been succesful in finding this mysterious claim form and was just able to get on this site after repeated attempts for a few months. I am still inquiring as to where this clam form is so that I can take some sort of action. Can anyone advise?

    Here is the website http dm.epiq11.com. You are suppose to go there and select the client. However, I no longer see any of Spiegel's bankruptcy affiliates listed there. There are claim forms there. So maybe you can still fill one out and mail it to the bankruptcy court and hope its accepted. Good luck.
    Their number is 646-282-2400. But no one ever answers.

    I filed a claim on 8-31-11. I have heard nothing from anyone until today. I am now being harassed by Spiegel to pay the $180 for the merchandise that I returned. Silly me used the pre-paid return label that they sent with the merchandise to return it, and did not record the tracking number. I only noted where, date and time that I dropped off the package. Now I am screwed and have to give up my hard earned money. I hope Spiegel loses most of their customers behind this and go out of business. I have shopped with them for decades and thought they were a reputable company. I am so pissed off. But I do not want my impeccable credit ruined due to their lack of customer care, This really sucks.

    Per attorney, I have to pay for the returned merchandise to protect my credit. Also, Spiegel will keep adding late charges to the amount. So, I had to give away $180.34 of my hard earned money.
    Also, I received the bankruptcy paper work today. If I am clearly understanding all of this legal jumbo, mine is considered an unsecured claim. So, I have to return a claim to 'possibly' receive 8-10% of my money back. This truly, truly sucks.

    Yes Signature Style, LLC formerly Newport New Catalog Stole $421 of my money and all of the clothing that I returned. I have filed complaints; I have even taken part in the class action suit against them, but I still have not been able to get anybody in customer service or the upper management to tell me when am I going to receive my refund. It is very hard to live here in Hampton, Va just a couple of miles from THAT company and see them doing business everyday!! I am totally discussed and very feed up with a very bad taste left in my mouth here in Hampton, VA!!!!:(

    I am in the same situation as all of these other posters. I am out $116. Still waiting to hear something from someone regarding my refund. I would love to have my money not a gift card. Why in the world would I want to give any of there companies my money again.

I thought I would just use my merchandise credit when I was back in the US and only now seeing the whole story/issues. Not sure I even understand since they are still doing business - they still have a website and you can still order products from spiegel/newport news/etc. Has any of this been resolved for people? they can keep my darn credit IF i can at least get product!

    according to Spiegel today (who never reissued my credit even though they said they would when I called a number of months ago) they stopped honoring these at the end of October last year. Funny though...seems they stopped honoring them all along. Hope you got your credit used and it was honored.

    okay, so there really needs to be a class action suit filed against Newport News/Spiegel. I too was one who has a 159.30 credit that was due to me. When Newport News went through bankruptcy they sent me a note saying they were in BK and that they would be honoring my credit after the BK was finished. I never heard anything again. Finally, I called their customer service and explained to them what was happening. The guy I spoke to said "yes, we have your credit on file. I will submit a request for a new credit number and you will be receiving it in a few days via email". Nothing ever happened. No email, no snail mail...nothing. Today I called to find out what happened and was told the program ended to honor credits at the end of October. WHAT? really? From the looks of it many people who also posted on this blog were never honored in their gift certificates or credits. Who is monitoring this company? Obviously they have violated the terms of their bankruptcy. Someone needs to pursue this. How does a company get away with this kind of robbery? Has anyone who posted above ever had resolution with this company? Where do we go to get help legally?

    The last paperwork I received from the bankruptcy court, stated they were honoring merchandise credit only. This was sometime during the middle of 2012, I think. People with these credits were to submit more paperwork to get 100% back. Since I only had the tracking number showing my return, 8 - 10% of m'y $180 return would be honored if there was money left. Well. Never heard a thing from them since. Crooks.

    This is stiil goin on. Just contacted Speigel recently re: my credit & gift card with money still on it and still today they give the same bs response they r unable to honor. I've decided to contact the news station and a lawyer to see if i can be directed in the right direction.
