For those who happen to stumble upon my blog, thank you for visiting…
To help understand the purpose behind this exercise, may I suggest that you first read my profile to get a sense of who I am and what I'm trying to accomplish here…
In 2 days, it will be the start of a New Year (2013) and I wish everyone a safe, healthy and prosperous New Year.
Being that my day job is running a tech start-up, I don't have the time to be an active trader…However, being an avid market watcher and investor, I have started this blog to maintain a public record of my views on the economy, the markets and my stock picks. My space here will allow me to share my analysis, the good, the bad and the downright ridiculous, for everyone to see. This exercise will allow me and anyone who cares to follow my progress (yawn), keep a running scorecard on how effective my investment ideas are. I will use this space to demonstrate how one can quickly build wealth by safely playing the derivatives (options) market.
I am quite aware that for the "purist" investor, playing the options market even on a very limited scale, let alone where 100% of the portfolio is invested in options, would be tantamount to investment heresy. I can just imagine, and chuckle, hearing their collective gasp(s) at what they would consider to be not just gambling, but EXTREMELY high risk gambling. They would of course be right in 99.99% of the cases. However, I would like to take this opportunity to prove that when done with adequate due diligence, playing options does not have to be risky at all and in fact, can actually be the fastest way to build wealth.
Starting Monday, December 31st, 2012 and over the next 6 months, I will show how I will achieve an impressive rate of return with just $10,000 invested in a portfolio consisting entirely of options. To ensure complete transparency, all my Buy and Sell decisions will be posted in realtime. These Buy and Sell decisions basically mimic the actual Buys and Sells in my real life portfolio. To keep this blog completely honest, I want to point out that even though the $10,000 seed fund to start this public portfolio is imaginary, the results that this portfolio will demonstrate, will be closely, but somewhat loosely, based on results my real life portfolio is experiencing.
So instead of talking about it, why don't I prove my thesis, by buying and selling options in real time. I will also try to explain the rationale behind my "investments."
Let the games begin…
DISCLAIMER: All postings made here are strictly for my personal record keeping and in no way, shape or form, am I even remotely suggesting others to follow my Buy and Sell moves. Trading options is definitely not for the faint of heart as one's portfolio can move up, or down, anywhere between 10%-30% during a single trading day. Feel free to follow my progress here, but PLEASE do not follow my moves. However, if, in spite of all my exhortations, should you decide to do so, be advised that you, and ONLY YOU will be responsible for any losses that you may suffer...In other words, the onus is strictly on you.
