I am a former hedge fund manager who retired in 2000 and then decided that the retired role was too sedentary for me and so I came back to build a tech start-up company to help non-profits with their fundraising. Since I still love the markets, I enjoy making economic predictions, honed from my... More

Its been a while since I last posted an update on my portfolio...

When I started this blog in late December, I had mentioned that I run a start-up which takes up a lot of my time and I wanted to build and maintain an options portfolio that required minimal maintenance...Those who know me and are aware of my daytime job know that my responsibilities as the company's CEO require me to put an inordinate amout of time building the company and therefore there will be periods when I will not have the necessary time to post updates...

So here is my update for today...

Even though my options in First Solar have been underwater, I was patiently waiting for their "Analysts' Day" meeting which was scheduled for today...And sure enough, the company's guidance has been bullish...very bullish. And not surprisingly, the stock has been on a tear...Since the time remaining on my April options is short, I am going to take advantage of today's price and exit my position...Since the markets close in less than 30 minutes, I will have to move quickly...will update later...

My position in Sprint options is doing quite well and since those options have more than a month before expiring, I will leave those options as is...

Will come back later tonight and update the portfolio...

DISCLAIMER: All postings made here are strictly for my personal record keeping and in no way, shape or form, am I even remotely suggesting others to follow my Buy and Sell moves. Trading options is definitely not for the faint of heart as one's portfolio can move up, or down, anywhere between 10%-30% during a single trading day. Feel free to follow my progress here, but PLEASE do not follow my moves. However, if, in spite of all my exhortations, should you decide to do so, be advised that you, and ONLY YOU will be responsible for any losses that you may suffer...In other words, the onus is strictly on you.

Disclosure: I am long FSLR, LDK, S, SPWR, TSL.
