  • Most expensive US stocks to short -- as of March 1 2 comments
Mar 2, 2011 10:54 AM | about stocks: DEAR, CPF, CASB, NAVB, MCBC, YRCW, CCME, PABK, FTBK, CAGC, CBC, GRNB, RXPC, SOMX, CHBT, ABCW, TSTC, SHZ
Below are the most expensive US stocks to short on March 1, sorted accordingly.

The cost to short is determined primarily by the cost to borrow shares in the securities lending market.  SunGard Astec tracks the cost to borrow in the securities lending market on a daily basis.

Below the table, I included a time-series chart for Somaxon.  The red line is the cost-to-borrow and short.  Blue is the number of shares borrowed in SunGard Astec's database, which receives daily data from two-thirds of the securities lending market.

Muddy Water offers much more evidence. I do not know how the CEO of CCME can explain the proven use of fraudulent license numbers. Looks like he and CCME are caught red handed. This is another nail in the coffin of CCME.

Looks like the Muddy Waters evidence was fake. Licence plate "evidence" debunked. Looks like Muddy Waters caught red handed.
