HedgeFundLive — So, with the Apple iPad 2′s launch scheduled to happen this week, a lot of its competition is receiving a lot less press. However, while some deserve less, there is one in my opinion that should not.
The Motorola Xoom, sporting a 10 inch screen, is considered to be the iPad’s only true competition. Operating on Android’s 3.0 system, this touchscreen computer features a high-resolution 1280×800 display by AU Optronics. It proves to be more than a match for even the iPad 2 with 1 GB of RAM, 32GB of memory storage, and a dual-core processor by nVidia Tegra 2. The front and back cameras also record in HD. Furthermore, the Xoom will be compatible with Verizon’s 4G service with free upgrades.
Although the amount of applications available to the newest Android operating system can not compare to the amount available to the iPad, I still stand by the fact that this device does give the iPad a run for its money. Which, by the way, isn’t too far off as it is the same price for both the xoom (with a wireless contract) and the iPad’s smallest 3G free version.
