Sorry I hide my true identity but I'm a physicist/engineer, native contrarian and idea generator. I am an eclectic dividend investor with motto "In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash" applied to companies I invest in. I like to read /and read a lot - did you look on my SA photo 8-)? / including... I recently read very good book "The Strategic Dividend Investor" by Daniel Peris.

I read a lot of popular and scholar books and papers about dividend policies and dividend investment and like to admit that this is one of the best. The book outlines quite important empirical facts that I have not seen in any other source.

The book is available at Amazon in paper and electronic form.
Amazon provides book reviews 1 reader gave 2 star and 2 readers gave 3 star because of technical issues with Kindle edition. A reader wrote "This is more a review of the Kindle version than the book itself. From what I can tell, the book is well written and a good summary of the subject. (I'd probably give the book itself a 4-5 star rating.) That said, the Kindle Version is less than disappointing."
6 readers gave 5 star (the highes Amazon rank) and 1 reader gave 4 star but wrote "I highly reccomend it and like its easy reading style." so I consider it 5 star.

As any human baing I look for information that agrees with my ideas (confirmatory bias) and I found plenty in the book. So, let me provide some quotes from the book:

"The better [to compare with speculation] ... is to put together a dividend portfolio, monitor it for the safety and trajectory of the dividends, make changes when absolutely necessary, and otherwise do as little as possible."

"Wall Street ... benefits directly from the turnover."

"The real challenge [for dividend investor] ... is in making sure that the dividend is safe and ... can grow[s]."

I can quote more but instead I'd strongly recommend to read the book to any investor.

If the idea is to do as little as possible with DGP as Peris claims, why does his DGFund have a 30% turnover?

Author’s reply » Ask him 8-). Any MF manager depends on cash flows from/to investors (therefore MFs are not compatible with DGI).
