  • Book Review: “The Power Curve: Smart Investing Using Dividends, Options, And The Magic Of Compounding” By Scott G. Kyle 2 comments

    This book is probably fits people who want to exploit dividend growth and have temper of option trader and need to learn 101 of compounding and of US options.

    If after this book you still don't understand compounding you have 3 choices:

    a) do not directly invest in stock market and even CD;

    b) copy and apply tables from 2 "antique" books

    "Stock growth and discount tables" by Samuel Eliot Guild, Financial Publishing Company, 1931 and "Growth yields on common stock - Theory and tables" by Robert M. Soldofsky and James T. Murph,. Iowa, 1963;

    3) use a good financial adviser, probably the book's author is one of them.

    Other reader might find interesting couple dozens of "Power Tips" peppered the book with sometimes unique author experience.

  • I am thinking of purchasing this book. Just for fun/interesting reading of course. Would this book increase my understanding of options BEYOND the typical time/intrinsic value of the option?

  • Well, I think you can find a more detailed book about options (e.g., McMillan on Options/McMillan, Lawrence G.) but you might read this if you want to combine options and dividend investing.
