    Avon (AVP) basically rejects a $10.7 B takeover bid by Coty not through negotiation, but through silence. Coty Chairman Bart Brecht: "I find it remarkable that since we made our revised proposal ... no one from Avon's Board or management has been willing to speak with us." Avon immediately tanked 14.1% pre-market but regained some of its losses after another company, Richmost, repeated expressed interest.

    Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, and no plans to initiate any positions within the next 72 hours.
