    In light of the recent 100B euros the Eurogroup set aside for a bailout of Spain's banking system, many investors have also started to worry about whether Italy will eventually require a bailout. Cue two completely opposite reactions, one by the prime minister of Italy, the other by the President of a prominent independent ratings agency.

    On Tuesday, the Prime Minister of Italy, Mario Monti, insisted strongly that Italy wouldn't require a bailout and even went so far as to assert that "Italy even in the future will not need aid from the European Financial Stability Fund."

    Then, on Wednesday, Sean Egan, co-founder and President of Egan Jones, declared that Italy will need a "full-scale bailout" within 6 months.

    So which one is correct? Time will tell.
