  • It's Better To Hold Onto Berkshire Than The S&P 500 Or Dow 1 comment
    Sep 24, 2013 12:04 PM | about stocks: BRK.B, BRK.A, SPY, DIA

Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.B) (NYSE:BRK.A) has been handing it to the S&P 500 (NYSEARCA:SPY) and Dow Jones Industrial (NYSEARCA:DIA) indexes. Berkshire has managed to double the gains of the S&P 500 and Dow in a ten year time span. Forget about these indexes and hold onto Berkshire for three reasons: Berkshire performs better than the indexes, its an incredibly safe business that is growing intrinsic value annually, and there is always the possibly Warren Buffett makes a deal to increase value per share.

Berkshire is one of the most entrenched companies I've seen. The value Buffett delivered for Berkshire's shareholders has been quite impressive.
