TeleCommunication Systems (TCS), a global authority in highly reliable and secure mobile communication technology, announced that the U.S. Army has granted the company $3.4 million in incremental funding for equipment, field services support, and maintenance of Secure Internet Protocol Router and Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router Access Point (SNAP) Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) satellite systems equipment.
The funding for these procurements has been acquired by the U.S. Army Project Manager for the Warfighter Information Network - Tactical (PM WIN-T) Commercial Satellite Terminal Program through the Army's $5 billion World-Wide Satellite Systems (WWSS) contract vehicle. TCS's SNAP VSAT systems will be used to provide multimedia communications capabilities which deliver encrypted voice, video, and data to military installations. In addition to robust functional capabilities that are impressively portable and rugged, the systems also include a graphical interface for easy operation and set-up.
"In addition to having easily deployable and secure satellite communications systems, our military must also have the knowledgeable support to ensure that those systems are always at peak performance levels for continuity of operations," said Michael Bristol, senior vice president and general manager of government solutions for TCS. "With TCS' tested and proven SNAP VSAT systems, as well as our experienced and dedicated field service personnel, our fighting forces will have a powerful means to achieve mission success."
For the past 25 years, TCS has established a proven track record as a trusted provider of communication technology solutions to solve the government's toughest technical challenges, under conditions that demand the highest level of reliability, availability, and security.
