    Apr 2, 2013 3:38 PM | about stocks: WTSL

Leading young women's specialty retailer The Wet Seal announced the promotions of its two divisional merchandising managers for the Wet Seal brand. Kim Bajrech has been newly appointed to the role of senior vice president-general merchandising manager of apparel, and Debbie Shinn has been promoted to senior vice president-general merchandising manager of accessories and ready-to-wear. Each woman has previously served as vice president-divisional merchandising manager of apparel and vice president-divisional merchandising manager of accessories and ready-to-wear, respectively. Their new promotions were effective as of March 25, and both women will continue reporting to CEO John Goodman.

"We are thrilled to recognize the talents and accomplishments of Kim and Debbie," Goodman said. "They have a deep understanding of the fast fashion market, they know the Wet Seal customer well and they are executing on all fronts as we return the business to its roots. I will continue to work closely with Kim and Debbie and feel confident that we have the right team in place to help us reenergize the Wet Seal business and drive growth."

Before joining the Wet Seal team, Bajrech served as creative director of PJ Salvage, a leading manufacturer of fashionable pajamas, loungewear, and intimates. From 1990 to 2002, she served as vice president-divisional merchandising manager for The Wet Seal.

Prior to joining Wet Seal, Shinn served as vice president-divisional manager of junior sportswear for Kohl's. She also held various vice president-general merchandise management roles at Pacific Sunwear between 1998 and 2006. She began her career at Hecht's, a division of May Company, where she served in various managerial positions over a 19-year period.

A leading specialty retailer of fashionable and contemporary apparel and accessory items, The Wet Seal is headquartered in Foothill Ranch, Calif. The company had 350 stores operating in 47 states and Puerto Rico as of Feb. 2, 2013, including 468 Wet Seal stores and 62 Arden B stores. The Wet Seal's products are available in stores and online at www.wetseal.com and www.ardenb.com.
