  • Intellicheck Mobilisa, Inc. (IDN) Installs ID Readers At High-Security U.S. Facility 0 comments
    Oct 14, 2013 7:43 PM | about stocks: IDN

Leading provider of identity and wireless security systems solutions, Intellicheck Mobilisa, announced today that it completed the work for a $250,000 contract to install ID readers at the visitor control center at one of the nation's most secure facilities.

Intellicheck Mobilisa's IM2620h Prox-PACS Reader is designed to read barcodes, magnetic stripes, proximity cards, and RFID tags embedded inside ID cards. In terms of what kind of identification the reader can recognize, the system is capable of processing military IDs, U.S. Government Common Access Cards (NASDAQ:CAC), U.S. and Canadian drivers licenses, and facility-issued visitor badges from vendors of major visitor centers.

One of the system's greatest benefits is that it can read Department of Homeland Security TWIC cards. TWIC cards are required by workers at U.S. seaports and are used by other federal agencies as a secure, convenient, and inexpensive way to badge their vendors. The TSA has issued over two million TWIC cards, which require a government background check, allows for PIN and fingerprint verification, and has a government-managed process of validating products via the TSA Qualified Technology List or QTL.

Dr. Nelson Ludlow, CEO of Intellicheck Mobilisa, commented, "We are honored to assist in security for one of the most well-known secure facilities in the United States. The ID readers we provided are among the most advanced ID readers in the world. We are grateful for the opportunity we have been given by the government to install our readers at this facility and look forward to a long working relationship."
