Well, CHK isn't really all about shale. It's the tech savvy to get it (of course, but everyone doesn't have it), natural gas and they have that 25/25 plan this year to increase production to gradually equal 25% of liquids (oil and nat gas) of the plays. That is a big benefit of the Utica find, it isn't all shale.

Good point. CHK is all about the technology. I'll be sure to clarify next time, however did you check out the entire article at the link? I think it clarifies, but I could be wrong.

well I say that, because not this article but another I read about it- I think it was a analysis of the company said that out of the 170 or so wells they own, there are also about 100 that they operate that aren't theirs. Not just one buy a few who already own the shale plays have to go to someone who knows or has the tech to get oil out of it. It gets technical, more than I want to know really, but the impression I got was that they had the knowhow to not only make their plays profitable, but others as well.
