I am the most novice of investors. I only opened an E*TRADE account February 2013. The reason I opend an account is MDBX, Medbox.

I came across MDBX in late January. I had a pretend $2,500 I wanted to invest. I pull up MDBX and it says the 52 week low was $.0287 on 9/4/12. So my Fake $2,500 would have gotten me a fake 83,000 shares of MDBX.

Then I looked at the 52 week high and my eyeballs popped-out of my head and I had to pick myself up off the floor. I could not believe my eyes. The 52 week high on 11/15/12, less than 3 months after the 52 week low, was $215.

    $215 x 83,000 = $17,845,000 in less than 3 months.

    I'm in!

I had to find out more. What was Medbox? As it turns out Medbox is a hi-tech vending machines that dispenses primarily medical marijuana. That's it. A weed vending machine? You have to be joking.

Now I am even more intrigued so I google "marijuana stocks" and started my research. I found 36 stocks that I considered to be directly related to marijuana.

I then made 3 portfolios with the 36 stocks. I made 1 portfolio with $1,000 invested in the 36 stocks @ the 52 week low. I made 1 portfolio with $1,000 invested in the 36 stocks @ the 52 week high. Then I combined the 2 portfolios into 1 with $2,000 invested in each of the 36 stocks, $1,000 @ 52 week low, $1,000 @ 52 week high.

In the Average Portfolio, the results were staggering.

    61.11%, 22 of 36, were up over 100%

    36.11%, 13 of 36, were up over 200%

    33.33%, 12 of 36, were up over 400%

    25.00%, 9 of 36, were up over 700%

    19.44%, 7 of 36, were up over 1,000%

    13.88%, 5 of 36, were up over 2,000%

    11.11%, 4 of 36, were up over 5,000%

    8.33%, 3 of 36, were up over 10,000%

    2.77%, 1 of 36, MDBX was up over 42,000%

    Everything wasn't sunshine and roses.

13.88%, 5 of 36, were in the negative.

Think it's too good to be true? I did too. Want to try for yourself? Here you go. To my knowledge, the most comprehensive and complete list of marijuana stocks ever assembled.

Under $100 - VRX, MDBX, CANV, PMD

Under $10 - AVTC, NTRR, AERO

Under $.001 - SFIO, HESG, RIGH

If MDBX can go to $215 per share with 2 states legal and 19 medical, imagine what it can do when the whole country is legal.

    Disclosure: I am long OTCPK:RIGH.

Additional disclosure: I am long on the sector

Author’s reply » I also found the following private investments for accredited investors. I haven't figured them all out yet. The Arcview Group, Privateer Holdings, MC ADVISORS/Moral Compass, Lazarus Investment Partners, and Diego Pellicer.

Arcview is a group of Angel Investors with $50,000 minimum.
Privateer is a private equity fund with $100,000 minimum.
Don't know much about the other 3 yet.
