As of the end of July 2014, blockdesk.com is concluding a promotional trial service period, and preparing to offer its services for fees. Here are two useful suggestions for making the most of the services they offer:
1. When you buy an Intelligence List and take a position based on one of the items in that list, there are really just two things you have to watch-- the calendar, to see if you have hit the 63 market-day time limit, and the current price compared to the Sell Target price given in the list. In other words, don't burn up all of your BTF allocation needlessly. Monitoring a position with BTFs is not the best way to use BTFs.
2. As you become more familiar with the tools offered by blockdesk, you will find that R:R and O/P Maps are very powerful tools for narrowing down which subjects are worthy of expending a BTF. The fine details given in the BTF that make it so intruiging and useful are also why it is best to keep them in reserve for times when you actually need the full set of details it provides.
The Volatility, Reward:Risk, and Odds/Payoff Maps are derived from some of the values shown in the BTF. If one Map can be used to screen out which 1 or 2 of the items from a list of 20 warrant closer inspection, it is well worth using a Map, especially when it covers up to 20 issues at once.
