  • MVO: Riding The Wave Down, But Where Will It End?? 2 comments
    Nov 2, 2012 7:36 PM | about stocks: MVO

OK team -- what is MVO doing and where will it end?

Short squeeze? I don't think so with the short interest being <3%.

Simply tracking oil prices? To some degree yes. MVO tends to do that, but I'm seeing a huge dip over the last week that seems to have gotten in front of the downturn in oil prices.

Rotation out by the funds? With only about 6% of the shares in large institutions, I'm not sure that accounts for the 15% drop over the last few weeks.

I think it's just plain old selling with the volume about 30K above average, but it sure is steep! The yield keeps climbing which is good, but we still have a couple months before the next quarterly distribution.

Anyone out there watching this play out? I'd like to hear your thoughts on this MLP dividend play in the energy sector.

    Disclosure: I am long MVO.

I have been reading articles as a novice trader and have heard MVO mentioned several times as a good dividend stock. In your opinion do u think I should buy now while it is at a low for the year or wait until it gets closer to ex dividend

Author’s reply » i think we missed the bottom, but I still like it. Whether oil goes lower or not in the near term, the pipes for MV oil don't run out until into 2020 and the price of oil seems to have baselined. I just can't see how this isn't a good long term play for the next 4-5 years...just my .02.

    I am LONG MVO.
